The Galleria

Desperate  for air conditoning, this beautiful shopping mall, the  Galeriàs Pacifico was perfect respite from the heat.  It's a Beaux Arts building from 1945 with 12 frescos.  The building had been abanonded for years, renovated in 1991.
Apparently the building was used as a torture center by the military junta that ruled from 1976-1983.

(Oh yes the military  junta I'm not sure if I remember that from news growing up or was it a movie.)

Really as far as shops, nothing different than US, UK.
High end like Polo Dior, Lacoste, Hilfinger and of course Starbucks . No purchases other than dinner.

I am used to seeing frescos in Italian  churches
